Terms & Conditions

1. General

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, applications, courses, tours, equipment rentals, and other services provided by Divers Frontiers.

By booking or participating in any of our services, you agree to the terms set out below.

2. Bookings

Submitting an inquiry or application form does not automatically confirm a booking.

Your booking is confirmed only after Divers Frontiers has reviewed your request, confirmed availability, and contacted you with the relevant details.

A booking is considered confirmed once payment has been received or explicitly agreed upon.

Divers Frontiers reserves the right to decline or cancel bookings at its discretion.

3. Eligibility & Course Requirements

Participants must meet the age, certification, experience, and other requirements for the course or activity they wish to join.

Minimum age and course prerequisites are listed on the relevant course pages of our website and are based on applicable PADI standards.

Participants are responsible for providing accurate information about their diving experience, qualifications, and health condition.

4. Medical Forms & Required Documents

Before participating in a course or diving activity, participants may be required to complete relevant PADI forms, medical questionnaires, liability documents, and other required paperwork.

If medical approval from a physician is required, the necessary documentation must be completed before participation.

Divers Frontiers may refuse participation if required documents are incomplete or if participation is considered unsafe.

5. Payment

Unless otherwise stated, payment is made on the day of the activity, generally after returning to Tokyo.

Payment may be made by cash or credit card.

For some courses, services, or special arrangements, alternative payment timing may be requested in advance.

6. Cancellation Policy

The following cancellation policy applies to day tours, fun diving, and diving courses:

Up to 15 days before — Free cancellation

14–7 days before — 30% of the total fee

6–2 days before — 40% of the total fee

1 day before — 50% of the total fee

Same day / No-show — 100% of the total fee

Cancellation timing is calculated based on the scheduled activity date in Japan Standard Time.

Requests to change or reschedule a booking are subject to availability and may be treated as a cancellation depending on the timing.

7. Weather, Sea Conditions & Safety Cancellations

Safety is always our top priority.

Divers Frontiers may change, postpone, relocate, or cancel an activity due to:

  • Poor weather

  • Unsafe sea conditions

  • Natural disasters

  • Transportation issues

  • Dive site closures

  • Other safety or operational concerns

If Divers Frontiers cancels an activity for these reasons, participants may choose either:

  • A full refund, or

  • A rescheduled date, where possible

Divers Frontiers is not responsible for additional personal costs such as accommodation, separately arranged transportation, or other expenses outside our services.

8. Late Arrival & No-Shows

Participants must arrive at the designated meeting point by the agreed time.

If a participant is late, we may be able to wait for a short time depending on the schedule. However, to avoid affecting the day’s activity, we may need to depart without them.

If a participant does not arrive and does not contact us, Divers Frontiers will make a reasonable attempt to reach them. If we are unable to make contact, the booking will be treated as a no-show and the full cancellation fee will apply.

9. Equipment Rental

Some courses and include standard rental equipment, as stated on the relevant service pages.

Standard included rental equipment may consist of:

  • BCD

  • Regulator

  • Mask

  • Fins

  • Snorkel

  • Wetsuit or drysuit

For Fun Diving, ReActivate, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Instructor-level training, and Specialty Courses, participants must bring their own required equipment or rent items separately from Divers Frontiers where available.

Rental equipment is subject to availability. Participants are responsible for using all rental equipment properly and may be charged for loss or damage caused by misuse or negligence.

10. Course Completion & Certification

Participation in a course does not guarantee certification.

Certification is awarded only when all required course standards, skills, knowledge development, and performance requirements have been successfully completed.

If additional training or extra sessions are required, additional fees may apply.

11. Changes To Activities

Dive sites, schedules, transportation plans, and activity details may be adjusted when necessary due to weather, safety, sea conditions, logistics, or other operational reasons.

Divers Frontiers will always make reasonable efforts to provide the best possible alternative where changes are required.
