PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course

The Advanced Open Water Diver course focuses on developing your abilities through real diving experience. During the course, you’ll complete five adventure dives, including two core dives — Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation — followed by three additional specialty dives selected based on local conditions and your personal interests.

Each dive introduces new skills and environments, helping you grow as a diver while discovering what type of diving you enjoy most. Many of the adventure dives you complete can also be credited toward full PADI specialty certifications, making this course a flexible and rewarding next step.

Course Details

Price:

¥150,000 (Including Tax) - (Option 1) From Open Water Diver to Advanced Open Water Diver

¥63,000 (Including Tax) - (Option 2) From Adventure Diver to Advanced Open Water Diver

Includes:

  • All instructor fees and facility usage fees.

  • PADI study materials with e-Learning (Not included in Option 2, as learning materials are already included in the Adventure Diver course).

  • Full scuba diving equipment rental set.

  • Insurance.

  • Certificate

  • C-card application fee.

Private Course Fee: If you are the only student booked for the course on that day, an additional ¥12,000 per day private course fee will apply.

Please Note: A 40% non-refundable payment is required to confirm your booking and order your PADI eLearning, books, and/or course materials. Once ordered or issued, this payment cannot be refunded. The remaining balance is paid on the course day/s.

Duration:

  • Course: 1 Day for Adventure to Advanced

  • Course: 2 Days for Open Water to Advanced

  • eLearning: Approximately 6-8 hours

The course can also be completed over non-consecutive days to suit your schedule.

Prerequisites:

To enroll in the PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver course, you must:

  • Be 12 years old or older

  • Be a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent

  • Be in good general physical health

Junior divers may be limited to certain Adventure Dives. Please check with your instructor.

Course Overview: 

The Advanced Open Water Diver course focuses on experience-based learning, not exams. There is no written test — instead, you learn by diving under the supervision of your instructor.

If you are starting directly from Open Water Diver, you will complete all five Adventure Dives during this course.


If you have already completed the Adventure Diver course, you’ll only need to complete the remaining Adventure Dives required for Advanced certification.

 

Upon completion, you’ll be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters / 100 feet (age dependent).

Many Adventure Dives may also count as credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course.

Lesson Materials: 

PADI provides Advanced Open Water Diver eLearning, which is used for both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water courses.

  • Study deep diving and underwater navigation

  • Learn about additional Adventure Dives you choose

  • Complete knowledge reviews online at your own pace

 

Your instructor will guide you on which sections to complete and schedule your dives accordingly.

Daily Schedules (How everything works):

 

E-Learning

Your PADI e-Learning materials are usually sent one to two days after purchase. We recommend completing the required sections before your ocean days so you arrive prepared and confident.

Ocean Days​

Our Advanced Open Water ocean days follow the same schedule as our regular tour days.
Please check the tour schedule for a detailed breakdown of how the day flows from start to finish.​

Equipment

You’ll use standard scuba equipment, along with specialized equipment depending on your chosen Adventure Dives.

 

Examples include:

  • Drysuit for Drysuit Diving

  • Dive light for Night Diving

  • Lift bag for Search & Recovery

 

Your instructor will explain the required equipment and advise you on any additional gear you may need. Please note that some rental items may not be included in the course price.

PADI AOW Certification

Congratulations - You're a Certified Advanced Open Water Diver!

 

Completing your PADI Open Water Diver course is a huge achievement! You’re now ready to explore deeper, build confidence, and enjoy even more dive sites around the world.

Once you complete the course, your instructor will submit your certification to PADI. You’ll receive your official PADI eCard in the PADI App within 24 hours, allowing you to dive immediately.

A physical certification card is optional and, if ordered, usually arrives by mail within 1–3 weeks. There’s no need to wait — your eCard is your valid proof of certification.
