Course Overview:

The Rescue Diver course is performance-based and focused on hands-on learning. You’ll learn how to think like a rescue diver through a combination of knowledge development and practical skill sessions.

You’ll practice rescue techniques in controlled settings and then apply them during realistic open-water scenarios. These exercises are designed to challenge you in a positive way, helping you grow as a diver while keeping the experience engaging and enjoyable.

This course builds confidence, awareness, and leadership — skills that benefit every diver, regardless of future goals. You’ll complete a short multiple-choice test (50 questions, 75% passing score). This is usually done after we come back from ocean training, either on the first or second day.

If a student does not achieve the required passing score, a ¥15,000 re-examination fee will apply to cover additional instruction, administration, and certification processing.

Lesson Materials:

PADI provides Rescue Diver eLearning, allowing you to complete the knowledge development portion at your own pace.

  • Online elearning, accessible on smartphone, tablet, or computer

  • Study anytime, anywhere

  • Review key rescue concepts before in-water training

Your instructor will guide you on what to complete and when, and answer any questions throughout the course.

These items are not included in the course fee. You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, and if you already own equivalent items, please feel free to use them.
